Proposal: Construction of a three and a half storey building to provide multiple self contained flats.

Permission was already in place for a development on this site. Our clients approached us to prepare a scheme to double the number of units and re-design the building with viability in mind. Given that the site was in a Flood Risk Area this proved to be challenging, however with advise from a Environmental Consultant we were able to work up a scheme which delivered the number of units our clients required and reduced the build cost per sqm. The Council had concerns about the bulk and massing of the proposal but our architects acted reactively and soon overcome these concerns with the use of contrasting materials and projecting cantilevered bays.
